Masala sundal recipe|white peas masala sundal recipe
This masala sundal recipe is a very famous Street food.This chaat is a perfect evening snack for everyone, also it is a healthy and nutritious snack.
Ingredients
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard
3 medium sized onion
4 tomatoes
A small piece of Ginger
7 to 8 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
3/4 tsp Garam masala
2 cup White peas/vellai pattani
Coriander leaves
Salt as required
Instructions
- Rinse and soak white peas/vellai pattani for 12 hours or you can soak in hot water for 6 hours
- Pressure cook the soaked vellai pattani for 7 to 8 whistles adding fresh water and required salt
- Meanwhile, add sliced onion, tomato, ginger and garlic in a mixer jar and make a fine paste
- Now place a pan, add oil, mustard once you hear the crackling sound of the mustard add onion, tomato, ginger, garlic paste that we grounded
- Saute well till the raw smell disappears or saute well till the oil gets separated from the gravy
- Add masalas like turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala as i mentioned in the ingredient list and saute well
- Add boiled white peas/vellai pattani without straining them and bring it to boil for 5 minutes and turn off the flame
- Street style masala sundal is ready to enjoy, and don't forget to add finely chopped onion and coriander leaves on the top of the sundal for best taste
