Crab soup

Crab soup|crab rasam |nandu rasam recipe 




This crab soup or nandu rasam gives a big releaf from severe cold and cough very refreshing and has many health benifits

Having this soup helps to recover fast from severe cold, even kids can have this soup.

This spicy nandu rasam can be served with white rice or as a soup.

Ingredients

  • oil       -1 tsp
  • mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • Dry red chilli -2
  • Tomato -2
  • Tamarind a small lemon size
  • Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
  • Asafotida -1/4 tsp
  • Cumin -2 tsp
  • Peppercorns -1 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic - a hand full
  • Shallot - a hand full
  • Crab  - 300 grams
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt as required

Instructions 

  1. Firstly Clean the crab ,add it to a blender and blend well adding little water and strain the juice
  2. Soak tamarind in water and add two chopped tomatoes and coriander leaves along with it and give a good mix (crush) with your hand and keep that aside 
  3. Now add cumin,peppercorns and curry leaves to a mixer jar and make a fine powder
  4. Then goes in the garlic and shallot, blend well and set aside 
  5. Now heat a Kadai,add oil, mustard and dry red chilli
  6. Then goes in the ground powder
  7. Add turmeric powder and asafotida and mix well 
  8. Now add the tamarind water mixture
  9. Then goes in the crab juice and bring it to boil
  10. Finally add required salt and turn off the flame
  11. This is optional you can strain the rasam if you gonna have it as a soup.

Then goes in the garlic and shallot, blend well


Now heat a Kadai,add oil, mustard and dry red chilli


Then goes in the ground powder, turmeric powder and asafotida and saute well


Add the tamarind water mixture and stir well 

Then add the crab juice and bring it to boil until the raw smell disappears


Finally add required Salt and turn off the flame,


Nandu rasam or crab soup is ready to enjoy.
