Pudalangai poriyal is very easy to make. Snake gourd is good for hair and skin,it improves digestion. Antioxidants present in snake gourd helps to prevent from cell damage in our body.

Scrap the white skin using spoon or knife, do not peel the skin with peeler because we're gonna cook the skin of the pudalangai, discard the inner portion with seeds.Cut them vertically and remove the seeds inside pudalangai

Chop finely to make poriyal using the below ingredients 

Ingredients

  • Oil                             -2 tbsp
  • Mustard and dal     -1 tspn
  • Curry leaves             -  one stalk 
  • Pudalangai/snake gourd-1/2 kg
  • Green chilli  -2
  • Cumin            -2 tbsp 
  • Garlic             -2
  • Coconut        -1/4 cup
  • Salt as required 
  • Water

Instructions

  • Scrap the white skin off the pudalangai using knife or a spoon, wash and chop finely
  • Place a pan on stove on a medium flame then add oil, mustard, dal and curry leaves let the mustard crackle and curry leaves turn in colour
  • Add chopped pudalangai and sprinkle some water to save from burning
  •  Now cover the lid and cook for 5 to 10 minutes
  • Meanwhile add green chilli, cumin and garlic to a jar and crush it.
  • Add this to poriyal and saute well
  • Add required salt
  • Add grated coconut and give a good mix
  • Turn off the flame, pudalangai poriyal is ready to serve.
  • This poriyal can be served as a side dish for lunch.

Clean and chop the pudalangai 



Place a pan, add oil,mustard, dal, curry leaves and saute well


Add chopped pudalangai and sprinkle some
Water

Close the lid and cook on a medium flame for 10 minutes


Add green chilli, cumin and garlic to a jar.

Add this to poriyal and saute well


Add required salt


Finely add grated coconut


Pudalangai poriyal is ready to serve
