Roasted makhana




Makhana or Lotus seed is commonly found in all grocery markets in India.Makhana is also known as fox nut, it contains a good amount of protein, vitamin, antioxidants, fiber and has a good amount of carbohydrates.

This roasted makhana recipe is a snack that contains calcium, magnesium,iron, phosphorus and good for maintaining cholestrol level.

We can also make curries and deserts using this Lotus seed, because it contains many health benifits.

Makhana 



Recipe ingredients

  • Ghee                                 -2 tbsp
  • Makhana or Lotus seed-1 cup
  • chilli powder                  -1/4 sp
  • chat masala                    -1/4 sp
  • pepper powder             -1/4 sp
  • turmeric powder          - 1 pinch
  • salt as required 

Recipe instructions 

Place a Pan on the stove and add a spoon of ghee, then add makhana seed or Lotus  seed. 
Roast for 3 to 4 minutes in a low flame untill it becomes crispy. Then transfer to a bowl,
Again in the same pan add a spoon of ghee and add masalas then add roasted makhana, saute well until it's coated with masala . Turn off the flame and roasted makhana is ready to serve

Heat a pan and add ghee


Now add makhana or Lotus seed,Saute well till it becomes crispy and transfer to a bowl



In the same pan add ghee


Add masala and roasted makhana


Add required salt


Roasted makhana is ready to serve.


Kids will love to have this snack because they are very crunchy and tasty.
