Simple makhana chaat

 Simple makhana chaat

We can do many recipes with Lotus seed or makhana seed, one of the very easy recipes with Lotus seed is roasting it by adding some spicy masalas to give a South Indian touch which tastes crunchy, spicy and tasty. My kids just love to have that crunchy and spicy snack in the evenings. Just to take that to a next level i tried to add some veggies to make it more healthy and tasty.

You can do this when you have left over roasted makhana or you can start doing from the beginning which is very simple.

Here is my Roasted makhana  recipe

I have added raw mango to this chaat because to have a sour taste, adding lemon will make your chaat soggy if you add lemon consume immediately as soon as you add.i would strongly recommend to add mango rather than lemon.

Ingredients

  • Ghee                                 -2 tbsp
  • Makhana or Lotus seed-1 cup
  • chilli powder                  -1/4 sp
  • chaat masala                    -1/4 sp
  • pepper powder             -1/4 sp
  • turmeric powder          - 1 pinch
  • salt as required
  • Onion                             -1
  • Tomato                          -1
  • Raw mango                  -1 piece
