Moonglet or veg Omelette recipe
This is going to be a easy and healthy breakfast or evening snack for everyone,moong dal/split yellow mung bean is a healthiest lentils.It contains good amount of protein and fibre since it is easily digestible.
Moong dal is also good for skin, bone and blood.
Moonglet is a North Indian street food made with moongdal and Veggies combined to form a fully packed nutritious food.
Moonglet batter is made like a pan cake. Moong dal is soaked and grinded then mixed with finely chopped vegetables and spices, it can be served with green chutney or any spicy and tangy chutney.
Moong dal/split yellow mung bean
Ingredients
- Moong dal/paasi parupu/siru parupu-1 cup
- Ghee/butter -4 tbsp
- Rice flour -2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder -1/4tsp
- Garam masala-1/4tsp
- Salt as required
- Onion-1
- Tomato-1
- Green chilli -1
- Coriander leaves
Instructions
Wash moong dal/paasi paruppu/siru paruppu and soak for an hour, then drain the water and add to a mixer jar and grind it to a coarse paste, then add rice flour, turmeric powder and required salt now just combine everything together,transfer the grinded moong dal batter to a bowl. Now add all the finely chopped veggies, you can also add capsicum. Finally add garam masala and give a good mix, our moonglet batter is ready. place a pan on medium heat and add butter or ghee now pour the moonglet batter and cook either sides,till it changes to golden brown and serve it with tangy chutney.

Wash and soak moong dal for an hour
Drain the water and add moong dal to a blender
And grind it to a coarse paste,now add rice flour,turmeric powder and salt,combine everything together
Transfer to a bowl
Chop all the veggies
Add the chopped veggies to the moonglet batter
Then add garam masala and give a good mix
Place a pan on medium heat and add ghee/butter
Now pour the batter
Cook well and flip it
Cook till it changes to golden brown colour. Our moonglet is ready to serve.
